I'm CJ Chew (赵川润) — a SuccessFactors consultant with over a decade of enterprise HR implementations, who got tired of doing things manually and started building AI-powered systems to fix that.

This site is where I share what I'm building, what I'm learning, and the honest results — good and bad.

The Journey

Where It Started

I began my career at Deloitte, working on large enterprise SAP implementations across Asia — Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia. Challenging work, but a lot of it was repetitive.

The Pivot

After years of configuring SuccessFactors for enterprise clients, I noticed I was spending more time on manual tasks than actual valuable work. Spreadsheets, data entry, follow-ups — it adds up fast.

So I started automating my own problems. That led to building agents, then workflows, then this entire self-hosted setup.

Where I Am Now

I still consult on SuccessFactors — Employee Central, Recruiting, Onboarding, Learning, ICS — because I'm genuinely good at it and the work is interesting. But the part that energises me is building: AI agents, n8n workflows, quant trading strategies, and the infrastructure that runs it all on a single VPS.

What I Write About

Four topics. All based on real work, not theory.

SAP SuccessFactors — real implementations, integration patterns, module walkthroughs, and the edge cases that never appear in the documentation.

AI & Automation — OpenClaw agents, n8n workflows, Claude integrations, and honest comparisons of tools I've actually used.

Odoo ERP — I'm an Odoo Learning Partner. I write about self-hosting, SME implementation, and the Malaysia market context.

Quant Trading — Python backtesting, crypto pairs analysis, and real strategy results including the ones that failed.

My Philosophy

Automation over optimisation — don't optimise a broken process, automate it.

Own your tools — self-hosted where possible. Own your data, your infrastructure, your stack.

Build in public — share the journey, including the parts that don't work.

Work that supports your lifestyle, not the other way around.

My Stack

Everything I use to run this operation is self-hosted on a single Hostinger Ubuntu VPS.

CRM/ERP: Odoo (self-hosted). Automation: n8n. AI Agents: OpenClaw (Connie, Rosita, Sam). CMS: Ghost. Knowledge base: Notion. No expensive SaaS subscriptions. No vendor lock-in.

Outside of Work

Meditation at sunrise. Walking to clear my head. Journaling about what I'm building and why. Learning about AI, quant finance, and anything that might compound over time.

Based in Malaysia. Working with clients across Asia. Part-time consultant, full-time builder.
